ClerkNet provides free online access to Sarasota County criminal court records from 2003 to present. Registration is not required to anonymously search basic case information.
Document images
Permitted court document images can be viewed online; confidential and sealed filings are excluded. If the exact order or disposition is available as an image, read that filing instead of relying only on a case-summary label.
Older records and certified copies
The Clerk directs requests for older records and certified copies to Public Access. Use that office when online coverage does not reach the case date or the recipient requires clerk certification.
Keep the case number
Once ClerkNet identifies the matter, save the case number, party name, filing date and document title. Those details reduce ambiguity in a Public Access request and help distinguish similarly named defendants.

Use arrest information only as a locator
The Sheriff Arrests & Inmate Search can identify an arrest or custody event, but the Sheriff expressly says the service does not detail the final disposition of criminal proceedings.

Open the Sarasota court case
For state charges, follow the case into ClerkNet or contact the Sarasota Clerk. Match the person and case number before drawing a conclusion.

Read the disposition source
Check the filed judgment, order, docket disposition or other court document that records the outcome. An arrest does not itself establish conviction, dismissal, diversion or the final sentence.

If an agency or other recipient requires an authenticated court copy, use the Clerk’s certified-copy route rather than printing an arrest screen or uncertified case page.
Statewide Florida history is a separate FDLE product
Instant statewide result is not certified
FDLE is Florida’s central criminal-history repository and currently charges $24 for a public request. Its Instant Search returns immediately but is not certified and adds a $1 card-processing fee. FDLE also offers a staff-run certified/non-certified search for $24; the agency currently states about five business days for non-certified processing and six to seven business days for certified processing, before mail delivery. Use FDLE when statewide Florida history is the actual task, not as a replacement for a Sarasota court document.
